With Satish Kumar and Menpa Phuntsog Wangmo

On our webinar this week we are delighted to welcome the internationally-acclaimed peace activist Satish Kumar. Mr. Kumar shares his decades of experience and a wealth of wisdom for cultivating our own inner sense of peace and happiness. He shares a simple and sincere spiritual worldview to help us co-create a more sustainable, fulfilling, and joyful life for everyone. Life does not need to be too stressful! We must only be empowered to discover our own enormous capacity and potential.

 

Satish Kumar

A former monk and long-term peace and environment activist, Satish Kumar has been quietly setting the global agenda for change for over 50 years. Mr. Kumar has completed thousands of miles of pilgrimages and peace walks, raising awareness of peace and compassion around the globe.
In 2000 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Education from the University of Plymouth. In July 2001, he received an Honorary Doctorate in Literature from the University of Lancaster, and in the November of that same year, he was presented with the Jamnalal Bajaj International Award for promoting Gandhian values outside India. In 2009 Satish was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws (LLD) by the University of Exeter. In 2013 he was made Doctor of the University by the University of Suffolk. In 2014 Satish was appointed an Oxfam UK Ambassador.
Satish is also a member of the Advisory Council of the Gross National Happiness Centre of Bhutan. In 2019 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science by the University of Wales.
He continues to teach and run workshops on reverential ecology, holistic education and voluntary simplicity.

 

Menpa Phuntsog Wangmo

Menpa Phuntsog Wangmo is a practitioner of Traditional Tibetan Medicine, with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice as well as teaching. She received her advanced degree from the Lhasa University School of Traditional Medicine
Menpa Wangmo is the Director of the Shang Shung Institute School of Tibetan Medicine. She teaches Tibetan Medicine around the world, developing programs and teaching students in the USA, Spain, Italy, Russia, and many places.
Menpa Phuntsog Wangmo is the Co-Founder of the American Tibetan Medical Association, ATMA, Tibetan Medicine professional organization.
